2024 was another year of networking, connection, and growth. We continued to support military and first responder families who have experienced loss, referring them to trusted resources.
Thanks to our amazing and generous partner, Rising Starr Horse Rescue, we expanded Resilient Riding into the more comprehensive StandFast Equine program. As part of this program, our mini horse ambassadors—Army, Navy, and Mayday—participated in community outreach events like the Sensory Friendly Firefighter Meet and Greet at West Point.
We also hosted a clinic led by the well-respected NYS Mounted Officer and Horse Trainer, Mary Elena Moran of Superhero Rescue. Mary Elena’s passion for rescuing and rehabilitating horses for use in mounted police departments across the country aligns with our mission, and we are excited to continue working with her.
This summer marked the launch of our StandFast Equine Facilitator Team program. Military members, first responders, and their families took part in Equine-Assisted Learning Facilitator training at Rising Starr. We remain committed to this training as we bring this valuable work into our community.
